The Versatile Blogger Award
I want to thank Kelly Dexter over at Nerdville Rhapsody for giving me this fine award. I will display it proudly...as soon as I figure out how. Ha!
In the meantime, there is a great responsibility that goes along with the award. After jumping over to Kelly's blog and thanking her I must now list seven things about myself.
1) I am employed as a Packaging Supervisor for Sun-Maid Growers of California. Yes, the raisins with the lady on the red box.
2) One last thing about Sun-Maid: my alarm wakes me up at 3:00 am. so that I am in the office by 4:00 am.
3) I spent my entire 40 years chewing my fingernails, only to quit cold turkey when my first novel was published. Hmm?
4) I write horror/thrillers, but find myself emotionally satisfied only by romantic comedies.
5) I would shrivel up and die were it not for music. I would last longer without water and food. I'm serious.
6) I love the Chicago Cubs baseball team, but do everything I can to discourage anyone else from following suite due to the perpetual heartbreak, year after year.
7) Spiders I can do; snakes - forget it!
And now comes the best part of this award, and that is passing it along to others far more deserving than I. It is an eclectic bunch of blogs. Some of those listed are at times serious, at others hilarious. Some tend toward darkness, while others tend toward the light and very often supply their own. Some I have known for a while and others I am just beginning to become acquainted with. I have a school-boy's crush on one or two of them (Relax, Jevron! It isn't you!). All are talented as hell and I am a better writer and person for having met them. Behold, I give you:
Demon Vampire Horror, From The Shadows, Holy Terrors, Jessica's Vision, Jevron Mc Crory, Julie Musil, Listen to the Voices, Maria Zannini, Missed Periods and Other Grammatical Scares, Simplify, Talli Roland, Gretchen-Wooden Nickel, Roxy-A Woman's Write, Marissa Farrar, Crimogenic.
I hope that you will take a moment or two to drop by those cool blogs and say hello, including Kelly's. You might decide to follow a few. I hope so. I know I already do.
We'll talk soon.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate you taking the time. I'll get back to you here or on one of the other social networks. It's not like we're not on all of them, right? ;) Also, if you're here to give me an award - bless you. However, your friendship and visits are more than enough. Thanks and blessings.

James,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the lovely award! I'm so glad you enjoy stopping by and reading my blog. :)
xx,
E.J.
Thank you, James! I'm touched.
ReplyDeleteI'll try to think of seven somethings later in the week.
Ref: raisins
You work for one of my favorite fruits. LOL! My pantry always has a couple of boxes of Sun-Maid raisins, especially the golden ones. I soak them in gin and take a spoonful as an arthritis remedy.
I have yet to figure out if it's the gin or the raisins that are helping my arthritis.
James, you are so sweet! Thanks so much for this great award, and I will most definitely visit the other blogs you've mentioned. I love reading other writer's thoughts and learn so much for each of you!
ReplyDeleteYou wake at 3 am? OMG! Fun information, and I liked getting to know more about you.
Thank you James :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'm glad to know I'm in such good company : ) I'm also grateful to the links to these other wonderful sites!
ReplyDeletethanks so much James ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award, James! Interesting facts!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ladies. Thanks you for stopping by as often as you can. Congrats on your awards as well. I really mean it when I say that I am richer for becoming acquainted with you all. Somehow, we're like family. Take care.
ReplyDeleteJames, thank you so much for the award. I am so excited. I've been in Vegas for the weekend, and the blog award is the only thing I've won. I must admit, however, that I don't know much about blog awards- what do I do?
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
Well, Missed Periods, I must say there is a bit of homework involved. You should have seen me, jotting down notes as if there might be a quiz later. I had the names written down of all of the bloggers that meant so much to me. I went back and forth over to Kelly's blog to see her instructions. However, after everything was completed, I was pleased to see everyone of you stop by and leave a comment before you departed, hauling away your shiny new trophy.
ReplyDeleteJust take a look above at my post and there you should find everything you need to pass it along to others.
-James.
Congrats on the award, Jimmy!!! Yahooo!!! PS -- think you stole some of my tunes ;-) I love that tune by Free -- it just never gets old!
ReplyDeleteHa! I love that Free song, too. That's what we need to do, talk about music. I'm always curious what you're listening to. You had the Bad English the other day. Right now I'm listening to Corinne Bailey Rae, Sara Bareilles and the new Krokus cd. Talk to you soon. -Jimmy
ReplyDeleteBah, you selfless thing! You earned the award! I say you keep it!
ReplyDeleteOr trade it for alcohol? Should we have a beer blog? I tend to mention it enough in my blog. Hey, don't all writers drink? It can be a lonely profession!
Hi James,
ReplyDeleteWow- thanks for the award! I really appreciate your support. I'll make a deal with you: you take care of the spiders, I'll get the snakes!
Hope you had a great Father's Day...is that a fourth generation photo? Cool.
